Clerk Information






  •    The County Clerk is the guardian of public records. We record              deeds, mortgages, marriage licenses and other documents.

  •    The County Clerk prepares the official minutes of the San Juan            County Commission.

  •   The County Clerk serves as the court clerk for the Probate Judge.

  •   The County Clerk is responsible for conducting Federal, State and        Local elections, and maintains an accurate list of registered voters.





The County Clerk does not record divorce records. Divorce records may be obtained at District Court.

The County Clerk does not schedule jury duty, or have anything to do with trials. If you have a summons for jury duty, please contact the court that issued the summons.  The County Clerk does not serve as the registrar of motor vehicles, that function is performed by a state agency, the Motor Vehicle Division of the State Taxation and Revenue Department. The County Clerk does not issue Birth and Death Certificates.
